For nearly 25 years I was privileged to be able to know the insights of Carl Sagan in his published works, his work with JPL, NASA and SETI. He solidified insights that I had long pondered and helped me firmly cast aside myth and conjecture from the religion that I was indoctrinated into because of the knowledge of the Universe I was born into.

Although some of his videos and books are seeming more dated now as the discovery of new extra solar planets accelerate, the confirmation of the Higgs, and gravitational waves, his books touch on more than the discovers of the times. Mr. Sagan books are great at pointing to how and why humans believe in what they believe and how it is passed down through the generations no matter what level of rationality the belief might have.

That I my thoughts on this book, I leave you with the famous quote from the first chapter of Carl's "A Pale Blue Dot" describing a picture of the earth taken just beyond Saturn by Voyager I from 3.271 billion nautical miles away February 14, 1990.
